Overview

Trafford Public Health team are working closely with Early Years colleagues to support the roll out of targeted testing to settings.

We are looking at the feasibility of offering asymptomatic frontline staff Lateral Flow Testing (currently live at Trafford Town Hall) to Early Years and Childcare staff.

Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) is a way of testing people who do not display any symptoms in order to provide reassurance and reduce transmission rates. In order for this to be effective, those taking part would need to complete a test twice a week.

This is only available to those settings who are providing early education or childcare at the moment. For example if you are a registered childminder but are not currently minding children you will not be eligible. Likewise if you are a provider offering wrap around care who is currently not operating for any reason you will not be eligible. This should only be completed by those settings who are open and providing a service currently to children.
