Overview
Trafford Council are hosting this consultation on behalf of South Manchester Learning Trust. This consultation is part of the process for making a significant change to an academy and it is separate to the planning consultation process.
If you would like to instead respond to the planning consultation, or find out more detail about the project proposed, please search for planning application reference 113464/FUL/24 in the planning portal.
Trafford Council has a duty to provide a school place for every child who lives in the borough. There is additional demand for school places in the Altrincham area and so we are proposing to increase capacity at Altrincham College by a total of 300 places. This means the admission number will increase by 60 from 175 to 235 pupils on entry to Year 7 from September 2026 and in each subsequent year.
This is an exciting time, not only for Altrincham College, but for the wider community we serve. It will enable us to add to and improve the existing facilities and offer an outstanding education to more families in our local area.
You can use this form to share any comments about the proposal to make the significant change. The closing date is Monday 8 July.
