Tree Management Policy Consultation
Overview
The purpose of this consultation is to seek support for the Council to adopt the updated Tree Management Policy and to take any further views and comments into consideration.
The Tree Management Policy 2023 sets out Trafford Council’s management policy for trees growing on Council-owned land and private property. It has been updated to reflect best practices that have been incorporated into current working practices.
The policy also reflects the climate and environmental challenges that Trafford now encounters and how we must go about ensuring that trees continue to contribute to the Council’s overall corporate aims, which is to make Trafford a place with a focus on better health, better jobs and a greener future.
Why your views matter
We are now asking residents, businesses, and users of the area to provide us with their views on the new Policy. Your feedback will be reviewed and used to make amendments to the Tree Management Policy.
Once the consultation is complete, all responses will be analysed and used to inform the final Policy. This will be taken to Council Executive in September, for approval.
What happens next
Thank you for providing your feedback on the Tree Management Policy.
Once the consultation has closed on 14th August, all the feedback received will be reviewed and may be incorporated in the final Policy, which will be approved by Council Executive in September.
