The consultation draft of the Trafford Design Code provides clear guidance for developers, architects, planning officers and Planning Committee members for all development projects, from small and large-scale residential projects to commercial schemes. It will be adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document. We are now seeking your views on this draft Design Code.
The draft Design Code covers a broad range of development types and scale across the whole Borough. The broad approach taken within the draft Code allows applicants a degree of flexibility in delivering a contextually appropriate scheme and is not intended to stifle innovation or architectural flair.
This draft Code seeks to take the best of Trafford, and use that to underpin a set of design principles and guidelines to ensure that future development continues to offer distinctive, innovative and high quality placemaking which can be enjoyed for generations to come.
This draft Code has been delivered as part of the DLUHC Design Code Pathfinder Programme with funding and guidance from government supported by the Design Council and Office for Place. The digital platform has been produced by Capita Place Services.
